Default Swords - A question in PvP

Hey
Ive been GvGing for a while now, growing slightly bored of the old shock axe, looking for a sword build to run. However of all the builds I have seen (with the exception of Dragon slash) seem to apply more pressure than damage. Basicly my question is, is there anyway for a sword user to be able to spike as hard as a shock axe?

with so many layers of blocking now, even Dslash is weak in competative pvp

Nope. There's generally one template that's the strongest at doing its job.

Why do you post in the Campfire if your question is PvP oriented?
This might help you more: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/f...splay.php?f=30

agreed

also swords in order to spike liek a shock axe need more skills.

then they just get blocked and the monk laughs and moves on

The only time I can see sword as being better then any other weapon is in PVe because of SY + D-Slash & Brawling Headbut + Steelfang slash.

They look better on casters... only time they > axes in pvp imo

Axes spike, swords pressure. Axes need evicerate in pvp or triple chop in pve, swords can get by without using an elite (though cripslash and dslash are good).
